Just attended the memorial for Spike in HSB. Very impressive service. Largest crowd I'd ever seen at a funeral - entire church was full not just sanctuary and fellowship hall but hallways and people standing outside. Had to park over a half mile away as all parking lots full and streets full of cars. Of course many old players there and the coaches there from all over - saw among others Slocum,Sumlin, Briles, Mack,Patterson, Rick Neuheisel,Kirby, etc. Mack was impressive speaker. Lloyd Hill also- he looks like he could start as wr today. Lots of great stories from all the speakers a lot of which we have heard. I didn't realize how much Spike liked Vegas - one story I hadn't heard was Spike told Sharon he had to go to Houston on a recruiting trip and had to leave a day or two earlier than expected and he and another coach really went to Vegas. One thing that every speaker conveyed was that Spike absolutely loved Tech and anything about Tech. He will be missed.
