Random thread but wanted to get your opinions on this. Halfway through the season I feel like we have a big enough sample size to make these lists. Obviously some of these units, like Iowa State's offense for example, are far better now than what we thought back in September.
Here are my rankings...
OFFENSES
1) Oklahoma - pretty clear #1
2) Texas Tech - with a healthy Bowman
3) West Virginia - have been in a slump since halftime in Lubbock
4) Iowa State - have been great since putting Purdy in at QB
5) Baylor - great passing offense, bad rushing offense (reminds me of 2016 Tech)
6) Texas - with Ehlinger they might be higher, but suspect passing offense
7) Oklahoma State - some good pieces but QB play is bad
8) TCU - better with Collins now that Shawn Robinson is out for the year
9) Kansas State - they can run it
10) Kansas - woof
DEFENSES
1) Iowa State - completely shut down WVU, #2 in scoring defense, #1 in total defense
2) Texas - most talented defense in conference
3) TCU - Patterson is a hell of a coach
4) West Virginia - #1 in scoring defense but have been shaky last 2 games
5) Kansas State - had an awful game vs Baylor, been good in other 3 conference games
6) Texas Tech - massive tests the next two weekends
7) Kansas - very good at taking the ball away
8) Oklahoma State - meh
9) Baylor - big plays galore against this defense
10) Oklahoma - talented, but so bad they got Mike Stoops fired. 1 okay game against TCU isn't enough to move them off last
Let me see your lists.
