So, I have been wondering ever since the news came out that Cody Campbell was making a large donation to the football program for facilities, if it is the best way for us to spend our money. I feel like even when we have these beautiful facilities in 2-4 years that we will still be behind and constantly playing catch up.

I would assume that the inspiration for the facilities upgrades is to attract better recruits and become better and win more games.

What if we spent more money on recruiting instead of facilities like Georgia has and kill it? I actually looked into Georgia's facilities and they just now got an indoor facility like us. Their locker room is maybe a little nicer but nothing like Alabama's or Clemson's. Their weight room would be considered average by today's standards. They are also about to do a $63 million upgrade and Kirby smart still thinks they will be behind.

But....they just landed one of the best recruiting classes I have seen on paper. 8 FIVE star guys(1/4th of all 5 star players), 15 FOUR star guys.

They spend $500,000 on 9 full time recruiting staff members. Have another 60 in support staff.

I am not saying by spending more money on it we will have the #1 recruiting class but we sure as shit wouldn't be the worst P5. Also, seems like a much cheaper investment that pays off sooner and a better program drives revenue up and ends up paying for facilities.

Food for thought: Oklahoma State has received $265 million from T Boone and they only have one Big 12 championship since his donation of $165 million in 2005 and their best season was 7 years ago.
