Per sources, I have received further confirmation that Sunrise Christian Academy head coach Luke Barnwell is going to be joining the hoops coaching staff. Expect him to be an assistant coach.
I also think the AAU connection from the old thread is very much in play still, and expected to happen. As previously reported, this can't happen until August. This guy will be in an off-court/recruiting/roster management type role.
Lastly, shoutout to @batmantt for bringing him to the board, but former Carleton University head coach/current DOBO Dave Smart is also expected to join the hoops staff. He could potentially be one of your top assistants/associate head coach type. Smart has a ridiculous career record of 656-101 (.867%) with 13 National Championships since 1999.
He stepped down as head coach in 2019, here is a good article on why he decided to do that.
Expect all three of these coaches to be in place by August. We'll keep you updated if anything changes.
