Happy Birthday to my mom. She is a 1972 graduate of Texas Tech. Her and dad were HS Sweethearts, and even Vietnam could not keep them apart. When she was 26, my dad died suddenly. She raised 2 boys on her own, put me through Tech, and has been supportive of me and my brother.
A lifelong Red Raider, she took me to my 1st Tech football game vs SMU in 1982. She cried after that game. She took me to go see Bubba Jennings play in the Bubble. We rarely missed a Tech sporting event even though we lived an hour and a half away.
She raised us by herself. She is the strongest woman I have ever known.
