Took a quick look at the TCU board and they had posted an early projection of starters for next year. Of the top 22, it included 2 redshirt freshmen and 8 sophomores with only a few seniors. It looked a lot like our depth chart this year. Curious, I looked at their Big 12 selections and saw they lose 9 seniors who made 1st, 2nd, or honorable mention. That doesn't include Hill who was hot and cold., While his replacement was a good runner he was a very inaccurate passer against us. Patterson will need all his skills to develop them quickly. Not saying this will be a repeat of their 2013 season of 4-8. But a large turnout of raiders will go home happy from Amon Carter this coming year.
After seeing the problems facing TCU, I decided to take a look at OSU. They lose 11 seniors who achieved some mention on the all Big 12 list. Losing Randolph at qb along with Washington and Alteman at wr is really going to hurt. They lose 4 who made 1st or 2nd team and 2 more honorable mention from just their offense. Plus their punter. It usually takes longer for an offense to mesh than defense so I'm glad they're our first conference game. This year's game came down to the last minute.... so close. We'll finally break the streak in Stillwater in 2018.
FWIW. WV and ISU also lost several key players. As for returning starters, I believe we fare better than everyone. And that's not including a returning Ward or Wallace or an upgrade with Duffy.
Add a schedule with only 4 real road games at OSU, TCU, KSU, and ISU.
We will not lose another 3 games on the last possession like this year nor have another kicking debacle like the WV game. Drink the kool aid. 9 wins or bust.
