I’m assuming some of my fellow Athletic subscribers read the article today about Gregg Marshall and his contentment at WSU. I hope that Beard has an outlook similar to Marshall. He mentioned that he’s been tempted by offers to leave, but he remembered what his mentor told him years ago, “coach where you’re loved.”
Also, I looked up Marshall’s contract after reading the article and noted that his buyout was only $500K when current deal was signed in 2015 and it’s now only $200K.
