I went to the Dallas Jesuit meet on Saturday and saw so much Texas talent and speed. My brother is a track coach at Strake-Jesuit in Houston and this is a meet they come to every year.
No one impressed me more that 100m and 200m winner in 6A, Joseph Sheffield from Rowlett High. He went up against a handful of nationally ranked times from others in the final and busted out a 10:25 in the 100 and 22:03 in 200 with a 20 mph headwind.
Alington-Martin's anchor leg in the 4x400 was legit, too. He overcame a huge deficit when he got the baton.
Not bragging, but Strake won the meet!
