The battle for a national seed in the tourney.
A Big 12 title within reach.
It is all within our grasp.
It was fun watching the teams in front of us take some losses this weekend, setting the stage for this week.
I can see one ACC team getting a national seed.
Both Ga Tech and Louisville are currently sitting in the last 2 seats at the table.
Either one of these 2 teams winning the conference tournament, should eliminate the other.
On the other hand, neither one of these teams winning the conference tournament should achieve the same result...
But as far as rooting against other teams goes this week...
Louisville looks to be the most vulnerable to lose their seed.
They have lost 3 of their last 4, and possess the #32 SOS. Another loss or two, should cement their drop. But a Ga Tech stumble at the end, considering their opponents RPI rating might be enough as well.
I believe that TTU winning at least 2 of their last 3, coupled with our #11 SOS will be just enough to get us that #8 seed (throw in the selection committee getting a second host team out west)
An OK St series win vs Baylor will obviously help our chances in getting some hardware for our outfield walls... But will also boost Ok St's RPI in seeking to be a first round host, and at the same time boost our composite RPI.
#7 Georgia Tech #7 SOS
Tuesday vs #149 Mercer
Th/Fri/Sat - Vs #196 Pitt
#8 Louisville - #32 SOS - Louisville has lost 3 of their last 4 games
Th/Fri/Sat - Vs #57 Florida State
#9 Texas Tech - #11 SOS
Th/Fri/Sat - Vs #69 TCU
For all the marbles
It is not TTU's fault that Baylor had a game cancelled.
Should BU win the B12, I do not think that the committee will hold it against us, if we go out and do our job this weekend.
Burn the boats.
