Talked to a long time friend of Kliff’s (played with him as well) and he gave me some insight as to why Kliff has been so closed off with the media etc.
Apparently, Kliff feels like he tried to be very active and open when he was first hired (he was much more so than now). Then it started being thrown back in his face with all the (coach bro, etc) and was used against him in recruiting etc.
Since then he’s had the “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” mentality and has gone with the “don’t give them ammo” approach.
Not saying I agree with that philosophy, but I do kind of understand it better now.
