Hope this is an interesting discussion. Just some things that I've thought as I've attended, (STH football, men's bball, and baseball.

First, I don't want this to sound like a gripe thread or complaining. I am thankful for the changes and additions for us fans, from Beer Sales to better traffic management at basketball. You have heard and made changes and I appreciate all of it! Thank you

Now to a couple of things I'd like to see added to basketball & baseball.

First conference affiliation, standings, & happenings. If you go to basketball game, unless you already know, which 99% of us do, there is little talk about the Big 12. I see it on our floor and a logo on uniforms. It would be nice to have a Big 12 update, show the standings, around the Big 12 this week and maybe an update on our next opponent. I like that kind of stuff. In baseball too, I like seeing the standings and where we are and our opponents, who's coming next...We are in a P5 and maybe one of the top 2 in both baseball and basketball, let's wear it!

Music....if you go to a Yankees game in the Bronx, after every game you hear New York, New York! Muddy Water in Boston, etc., iconic songs that speak to their cities. Lubbock & Texas Tech are fortunate in the fact that we are pretty well known for our music heritage and its a good one. I myself would like to hear some of these songs. Now they may not mean as much to some as they do me, but as a Lubbock resident for 30+ years its home and I'm proud of Lubbock, Texas Tech, and West Texas.....so my suggestions are:

For our iconic song, I think we have (2) choices. Basketball, you start playing this as soon as the Matador Song is sang with the team after the game. Baseball, same thing or possibly the 7th inning stretch song.

Mac Davis-Lubbock Texas in my Rear View Mirror. Love this song and if you haven't listened to it, give it a try, its great. And, it is a positive and I think it could be our NY NY song.

Josh Abbott-Victory Bells. I honestly do not know how or why this isn't played at Tech sporting events. Great song and if you love Tech, chances are you'll like it or love it like I do. And Josh is such a good supporter of Tech, seems we are not taking advantage of a star and his love for our school.

Okay those are my choices for two iconic songs. Now in my opinion there are others, Joe Ely, Buddy Holly, Waylon, etc., I'd love to hear Buddy at least once a game in baseball between innings. Its our heritage. I always wonder what someone from Indiana or wherever that comes here for a 3-gamer and never hears Buddy Holly in Lubbock. Seems odd.

I understand the players like the hip-hop, etc., and that is okay for pregame, but let's be Lubbock and West Texas and take advantage of some iconic songs unique to Lubbock and Texas Tech.

One of my favorite games of all times was in '06 or whenever it was Cody Hodges was our QB. We played A&M in that 9pm start game. The Jones was crazy, but the pre-game music, they played Buddy Holly, they played Lubbock in the Rearview Mirror, it just seemed so....so....US. I loved it, I was proud and we then kicked the @$#!@ out of the Ags.
