LEVELLAND, TX (KCBD) - At least two or three times a day, you will find South Plains College shooting guard Jordan Brangers in the gym, putting in work as he gears up to make the jump from Junior College Basketball to the NBA Draft.
"I have had a lot of good feedback," NBA Draft prospect Jordan Brangers said. "I am not going to say what teams, but I should have a couple of workouts."
"After this year, we played and won the National Championship," Brangers said. "I feel like, I wouldn't say NBA ready but professional ready. I feel like I have developed as a player, and I feel like that would be the best move"
His endless range, and his boundless work ethic are things that Brangers looks to take to the next level.
When asked about what he will bring to the table for NBA teams, Brangers said:
"Just the passion for basketball, just a love for the game," Brangers said. "I know some of the players that went to the higher schools, the higher division ones. But, I feel like I am at the top of my game, I definitely feel like I am one of the better players in the class."
286 underclassmen have declared for the NBA Draft, but only 60 players will hear their names called on draft night.
Going into it, Brangers knows, he will have to answer some questions about his de-commitment from Texas Tech.
"What happened with my grandmother, she was very sick at the time," Brangers said. "I felt like I needed to get closer, back to home. I know Tech fans really didn't like me de-committing but it was a family matter, and my family comes before anything, and that's even basketball."
With 45 days until the draft, Brangers plans on moving to Philadelphia but he says he will always remember his time here in West Texas.
"I was very blessed my second year, when I was able to come back and play again. The goal was to ultimately win the National Championship, and we did that, and it felt good when it happened," Brangers said.
