foreclosed homes

[Techsas Tech]

So were looking at buying our first home. We are learning as we go, but I can't figure out what the catch is with these or the auction homes. I'm guessing they are all as-is/sight unseen. Are they more often than not a bad purchase? I just cant figure out why these larger full-family homes that have so much to offer go for so cheap and cant get sold. Somebody on here has to have some experience dealing with these.
