PWO offensive tackle Cole Thomas from Seattle Blanchet HS wasn't on the updated roster we were given from media days, and now we know why.
Thomas tells me he had to medically retire from football due an injury he suffered way back as a freshman in high school.
Despite that though, it's not all bad news. Thomas says that coach Wells has given him an opportunity as a student-assistant coach and he will be joining the staff later this week. Thomas says he's always planned on being a college football coach and sees this development as him getting a small head start on that.
So bad news with the loss of a talented young man on the field but good news with his addition on the staff and good on coach Wells for giving Cole that opportunity.
