This is not a Wells bashing post. 2021 will be his 3rd class and is currently ranked 60th, his previous 2 finishing 53 and 57.
When you look at class rankings for Tech classes over the last 20 years we average in the 40's and that time period includes 4 coaches. What is it that makes it so hard to recruit football players to Tech. Is it W/L , head coach, recruiting resources, location, or do recruits just not considered Tech a good program.
I know many say Beard can recruit to Lubbock, but he also got 2, 3 stars early on that turned into first rounders, and one was local. Basketball also only takes 2 to 3 recruiting hits to produce a successful team where as football I say you need more like 15 big hits to produce a nationally relevant team.
What should Tech do to help Wells over the hump?
