What a wild football game. As frustrating as that one was, and my goodness was it, it all equaled a win for the Red Raiders. Some quick thoughts…

-Again, Tech is really unimpressive after the first two drives. It’s happened three times in a row now, pretty fascinating development. For as bad as that was, I thought Tech played pretty well offensively in the second half, especially at the quarterback position, where I thought Tech was very questionable early.

-Where would this team be without Tahj Brooks? What a great day for him. In the air and on the ground. Pretty much willed this team to a win.

-As harsh as I was on Morton in the live thread, I thought he had a great second half. Also believe that Douglas and Kelly had really, really good games. I also think that Kittley put him in better spots, like he did early in the game, and it certainly helps when you’re able to run it.

-It’s pretty obvious that Tech’s defensive effort was abhorrent today. True freshman QB in his first start and one of the worst offensive units in the nation is able to get you into a shootout, extremely frustrating. It was everyone, too. The younger DL that had to play weren’t great, Tech had no pressure from the DEs and were a mess against the run. The secondary was not great and had multiple costly penalties. I don’t know how you fix it, but you are what you are at this point.

-Hilarious stroke of luck to fall on the fumble for the Red Raiders after not being able to do so earlier in the game. Take it, but it doesn’t excuse the defensive performance throughout the day.

-This one shouldn’t have been an issue with the output the Red Raiders had offensively, alongside the breaks and gifts that essentially gave you 14 points (onside & fumble), but it ultimately didn’t matter. Found a way to clinch a third straight season with a winning record in the conference. One more of these to go this year.

-Last note. The refereeing late was an atrocity to the game of football. I am desperate for an explanation for why the clock stopped without OSU calling a timeout. A mockery. Great job by J-Rod to ice it.
