Our defense is actually not terrible. Our offense is. We have weapons, but the quarterback situation is next level bad. The second to last drive illustrates this best when we FINALLY stretch the field, Easy E is wide open by 10 yards, and Bowman under throws him so badly the db makes an easy tackle. Nothing earth shattering here but if we get a new coach and new QB, we could be decent next year with these defensive transfers getting an extra year.
The slide was the right call. A lot more control over one play (chip shot field goal) than allowing them the ball back. Not many decisions by Wells I’ve agreed with, but this was the right play. Could it have gone badly, yes, but so could any decision in the last minute of a game. I liked keeping compete control of the situation and giving our guys one single play to win the game, not an additional series.
The offensive play calling is so bad I honestly do not get it.
