I think Texas would like to go the route of Notre Dame and go independent in football, but remain in Big 12 for other sports and still play Big 12 teams in football. If the Big 12 says no, they go to ACC and replicate Notre Dame's deal. UT is always scheming on how they can scrape every last dollar to themselves.
