Early, Texas, just West of Brownwood with abutting city limits, has a recently opened BBQ spot that is spot on !!
Up In Smoke is open mid morning through a lunch period with their offerings, I ate sausage, pork ribs, and moist end brisket. The first two were good, just good...the brisket was outstanding, as good as anything I have eaten ever, and top of the scale for most, tender is the key in what I liked, of course it tastes good.
There is nothing in any county adjacent that can come close and I don't know but doubt that Abilene has anything that can compete.....
