Though the 2016 class won't put ink to paper for several more months, the Texas Tech coaching staff has kept watchful eyes on gifted athletes whose services won't be available until 2017. One junior to be on that list is Duncanville (Texas) wide receiver Tre Siggers.

Texas Tech became the second program to extend an offer to the former Desoto (Texas) Eagle.

"They really like small, impact receivers," he said. "I feel like that's what I am."

Although it's still early in the recruiting process, Siggers said he's always considered Texas Tech as an one of his top options. His brother, Russell Polk, who played safety for the Red Raiders from 2010-12, is partly responsible for his positive thinking about Texas Tech.

A visit to Lubbock this coming weekend is in the plans for Siggers and his father. He said he's hoping to see some of the guys partaking in off-season workouts.

Siggers also holds an offer from Louisville, which offered him after his performance against state powerhouse Allen. And now, Big 12 counterparts Kansas and Iowa State have started to recruiting him as well. Siggers has also camped with Rice and TCU this summer.
