Update

On Tuesday, the Hickory Creek Police Department closed its investigation into a case involving a man said to be a Ryan High School football coach and a boy. Investigators met with the boy's parent, who believes no criminal activity occurred, the department said. Denton ISD also told the Denton Record-Chronicle the district's investigation into the matter was also complete after no charges were filed.
A woman says a Ryan High School football coach assaulted a 12-year-old boy in videos that have garnered thousands of views on TikTok.
The man being accused of assault in the video is seen wearing a shirt with a logo for the Ryan Raiders football team.

TikTok content producer ThatDaneshGuy — who specializes in identifying wrongdoers in submitted videos — has named the man seen in the video as Aaron De La Torre, a defensive coordinator who has worked with Ryan High’s football team for seven seasons.

We are aware of allegations that have surfaced online involving a Denton ISD employee.
“Since this alleged incident occurred over the weekend in the community, we must allow law enforcement to complete their investigation before any additional action, if deemed necessary, is taken.

“The Denton ISD Human Resources Department is working diligently with law enforcement to address this situation.”
The videos were recorded in a RaceTrac parking lot located at 4320 FM2181 in Hickory Creek.
The Denton Record-Chronicle contacted Hickory Creek Police Chief Carey Dunn, who provided a news release Monday afternoon.

The release states that Hickory Creek police are pursuing an investigation into the incident, which originated at the Walmart nearby at 1035 Hickory Creek Blvd. and continued at the RaceTrac.

Though the man had left the scene, officers spoke with several individuals reporting that the man assaulted a 12-year-old boy.

As there were not immediately visible signs of assault, injury or evidence to support that an offense occurred, the preliminary investigation did not yield probable cause that could have led to an on-site arrest, according to the release.
Officers contacted the boys’ parents to pick them up from the scene.

In the videos shared on TikTok, the woman recording, who was a bystander, is seen confronting a man after the alleged assault.

In two videos from different perspectives, the man is then seen walking off camera away from the woman and getting into a vehicle. The woman gets into her vehicle and drives over to a car in which the man appears to be the passenger.

In another video, Hickory Creek police respond to the scene and speak with the woman recording the videos.
The woman alleges to police that she saw a larger man had a boy in a headlock, hit the boy and had possession of the boy’s phone until she intervened.

She told police the man said the boy had “hit” his wife. In a separate video, the woman says the boy told her he and a friend were throwing a plush toy over an aisle at Walmart and the toy hit the man’s wife.

Officers in the video say they attempted to locate the car but did not locate the correct one.

The investigation is ongoing and “new information is being received,” the Hickory Creek Police Department release states.

Officers have identified the involved parties, and the release states the parties are cooperating with law enforcement.
