NOAA is predicting a much larger dead zone in the Gulf this year. Estimate is that it will be about 600 square miles bigger than normal. Could have a big effect on coastal communities' economies, particularly those depending on on shrimp and oysters. At the same time, the latest hurricane forecast from Colorado State says there is a higher number of storms and severity on the Texas Gulf coast. Temps are approaching Aug and Sept levels already. Storms could result in fewer and costlier insurance options. Florida is experiencing those problems now. Coastal communities keeping fingers crossed this summer.
