We spoke with Coach Tadlock this afternoon to preview the weekend series against Baylor.
He noted that, as was expected, John Henry Gonzalez will pitch tomorrow night while Martin stays on the shelf. Tadlock did say, however, that Davis had told his dad that he felt "110 percent" better now than he was feeling before. But, he is not pitching at all right now, as they won't even try to let him throw until he's in the clear. They'll handle him carefully, and from what I've heard, he might even be made available from the bullpen first before they put him back starting on a Friday night again. Careful, careful.
With Gardner, it sounds like he might not play much this weekend. Tadlock made note of the fact that he was running basically one base at a time on hits he usually could round two of them on, and he hasn't been running much since the Tuesday night game. I'd guess we don't see much of him unless he's needed in a pinch hit opportunity or some such, but we'll see.
