I love Dak. Great kid, strong enough to withstand NFL pass rushes and escape, tough enough and fast enough to scramble without getting hurt. Seems to be a good team leader. But often times he seems a bit lost out there.
That being said he has significant problems. He seemingly doesn't read through his progressions well causing him to be "late" on his delivery almost every pass. His arm strength is only average, and worse yet, his passes are rarely on target...either too high, too low, behind the receiver, too far out in front, or a combination of that.
Biggest problem I see is one the Cowboys themselves have created. They gave him Kellen Moore, a career backup in his first year as a coach, as his QB coach. Idiocy!! You have a kid who was seriously lost last season and trying to play for his NFL life, given a position coach trying to find his way in his first year. He needed the best QB coach Jerruh could afford.
Marry all that with one of the worst OCs in the business, who is shaping an offense which is 5 years behind the current NFL trend (which is that way because of the talent which is coming out of D1 football who more familiar and comfortable with the run and shoot style of play), and you have a failure of epic proportions.
Dak may not be an front line quality NFL QB. But right now it is hard to tell with the coaching he is receiving. If he continues at the pace we are now on, Jerry should be looking to replace him next season. While he's doing that, he can replace his HC and the entire offensive staff too.
