Keep the blame on Kliff for the results which is fine. He can take it. Blame the players because they ultimately are playing. But 3 years has not been long enough to justify firing the guy or even talk about firing the guy.
Ludicrous. I shouldn't even post because it's just overreacting from a Tech fanbase that is tired of being a lower tier Big 12 team. Well it's been 6 years since we were relevant (losing record in the Big 12 each season). And it's going to take a couple of more years to get back to relevance. But if you think making a change now would benefit Tech football you are wrong. We need stability and continuity.
But for example. Go look up the year 3 records for each of these guys at Clemson, OSU, Baylor, and Michigan State and it's far from perfect. Takes time to build a program. Takes more time for a 1st time HC to build a program. Mistakes have been made that have hurt us...hiring Wally...losing Cumbie to TCU...certain recruiting decisions on players that didn't work out...
Being a 1st time HC is not easy. And it's not easy when you don't have a QB. Leach and Tuberville had it easy for QBs. Kliff was a warrior/Symons/Cumbie/Hodges all built this program with an attitude that started there...But even in year 7 Texas Tech went 7-5 with a RS Soph. QB. Tuberville with Potts and Doege were both fighters. Kliff inherited a bunch of quitters. Losing Mayfield, Nicholas, and Brewer really killed the development of that position. You guys do realize that we are starting a true Soph. at QB? And you also realize since the Kansas game the right side of the offensive line has been shuffled for every game.
Kliff can't control the schedule. He can't get his freaking punter healthy to handle kickoff/punting duties. He can't go out there and force his outside receivers to make plays.
I'm not going to make excuses for losing. Losing sucks. But give the guy time to implement his system. His culture. Get his players experience before you make the determination of where this thing is going.
