ON TECH:

Texas Tech’s postseason streak is in danger … The Red Raiders haven’t missed the NCAA tournament since 2015, but that streak is in danger this spring as they’re sitting at 61 in the RPI with only three weeks left to the regular season. Tech is tied for fifth in the Big 12 with a 9-9 (.500) record, and finishes the regular season against Sam Houston, West Virginia, and Kansas. Winning two of those series and not getting swept at West Virginia should keep Tech on the good side of the bubble, but they’re on the extreme bubble right now. In addition to an iffy conference record and bad RPI, Tech doesn’t have a lot of pluses resume wise. It has a 172 NSOS, 4-8 road record and a 5-7 record vs. RPI Top 50. The Red Raiders are 15-11 vs. RPI Top 100, which is at least a positive, but otherwise? There’s not a lot of meat on the bone with this resume. That means Tech will need to have a strong conference finish.
