Comment From sanctii:
- Texas Tech seems to be a well rounded team with a good mix of experience and young guys. Do they have enough bats to make some noise in the post season against elite pitching?

Rogers:
- SANC — They sure do. I thought the Red Raiders were very opportunistic offensively this past weekend. That entire lineup knows its role — and the Red Raiders, for instance, were able to win with four-hole hitter Hunter Hargrove going 0-for in the series opener. Then, he got going as the season progressed. I think Tech is the most balanced team I’ve seen this season thus far, and the bullpen continues to take shape, too.

Comment From TV:
- Who had the more impressive weekend Tech or West Virginia? Personally I go with Tech due to the sweep but WV taking 2 of 3 from Baylor is pretty dang impressive.

Rogers:
- TV — I would go with Texas Tech since this was a series Texas had pretty clearly circled — and the Red Raiders went on the road and swept it. No doubt, though that Cole Austin and the Mountaineers going on the road and cooling off Baylor is very, very loud. WVU continues to be a team that I have my eye on (it got some nice preseason love from several coaches).

Comment From Redraider972
- Clearly I am very proud of Texas tech but at this point what do you guys think of the big 12 as a whole and how many teams do yall see possibly extending their season?

Rogers:
- The league is looking pretty good right now. TCU, Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State would be postseason teams if the season ended today. I do feel like Texas needs to get on the horse a little bit — the Horns are just 12-9 and they and K-State are starting things with RPIs in the 80s/90s. That’s a big series in Austin this weekend.

Comment From T:
- Is there a better 1-2 punch in the big 12 than Martin and Gingry? Throw in Shetter and i don’t know if there is a better weekend rotation in the Big 12.

Rogers:
- T — That might be the top one-two punch in the country outside of Faedo and Singer. I like Lange and Poche, but I think I’m more comfortable with the Martin-Gingery combo for now. Shetter kind of settled in a bit after a rough start yesterday. There’s not much I don’t like about this Tech team — if anything at all.

Comment from BillW:
- I was actually encouraged to see the starting pitching for TCU this weekend. It looks to me if that is solidified then the Frogs can stay on target to reach their lofty goals for the season. Thoughts?

Rogers:
- I talked to a couple of people who saw the series and the general feeling was that the Horned Frogs looked much better than they did out on the West Coast. Jared Janczak continues to be outstanding, while the pitching staff as a whole was solid against the Jayhawks. Now, the only caveat here is that Kansas isn’t exactly a great team, but it was a step forward. Interested to see if the Frogs can back to business moving forward.

Comment From Daniel:
- When will you guys release a new projected 64?

Rogers:
- Daniel — I would look for a first Field of 64 probably the first week of April. We’ve still got a couple of more weeks before we get to that business.

Comment From James:
- I was able to watch quite a bit of baseball again this weekend, and I continue to be concerned about the quality of umpiring I see. In particular the strike zone is so ridiculously different from ump to ump, I really have no idea what a strike is anymore.

Rogers:
- James — Yep — I’ve seen some poor umpiring yet again this season. Here’s my thing: I don’t have an issue with you having A) a tight zone or B) a loose zone — but C) be consistent with it. That’s all I ask for.

Comment From Erik
-Can a case be made for Arizona as the best team in the country?

Fitt:
- I wouldn’t make that case, but the Wildcats are clearly a very good, balanced, confident club with a lot of offensive firepower. Just don’t think they’ve got the starting pitching to be regarded as the best team in the country.
