Looking at a big family trip to Costa Rica. There are about 15 of us including 2 teenagers, a 5yo and a 1yo. Looking to stay somewhere that maximizes our ability to do various activities.

Manuel Antonio seems to be the recommended area with the forest and beach both right there and quepos not too far away… but it’s a 3+ hour ride from the San Jose airport which seems not ideal for the little ones after a full day flying.

Looking at the more northern part of the pacific coast there are a lot of places within 60-90 minutes of Liberia, but if we’re looking at a 2-3 hour trip to do some jungle activities that’s not a great trade.

With the little ones we want pretty quick and easy beach access and a large home with a private pool or a decent resort. But we also want to fish one day and do some jungle stuff one day (without the little kids obviously).

So where’s the best general location to look that offers all of that without long travel times? Open to specific resort or house recs as well if anyone has them.
