I signed up for this name while Beard was still an assistant Coach under Pat Knight. I now feel it’s my duty to self-indulge and pretend to be smarter than I am.

Ramsey room for Improvement:
As good as Ramsey has been (and he’s the third best player, and single most talented player on our team) I’ve noticed on more than a few occasions that Ramsey struggles with his on-ball perimeter defense. He looks a little awkward and is still working on body placement and instincts in Beards system.

This doesn’t show up in the stat line as his incredible athleticism has gotten him 5 steals in two games. This will become more apparent against higher quality teams if he gets complacent with his defense, and focuses on his glory stars. I don’t believe he will do that. But this is an area to keep an eye on as we move towards our tougher December schedule.

Holyfield Is a Woman’s BBall Superstar
His fundamentals are so lights out. His on court IQ is amazing. He’s leading this team from the low post. Let me prove it to you:

Key Stats through 2 games:
Rebounds: 12
Blocks: 3
Personal Fouls: 2

This has been done with a majority of his points coming from the paint.

That kind of post dominance won’t continue through conference play. But the discipline that creates that will lead us and travel through the tournament

Personal Fouls
Our starters have a total of 18 fouls through two games. No starter with more than 2 fouls per game. That’s discipline. That’s elite. Also a sign of the deep rotation.

Thanks and Wreck Em.

bonus:
When we win a National Championship, I will retire this user name.
