They have come and gone for a variety of reasons....for the most part the ones who have been successful and stayed have bought into the west Texas culture and traditions of our University. Smith was obviously not one of those and he bolted. I have less respect for him and am glad he is gone because he would have gone sooner rather than later.
One of the reasons I appreciate Kirby is that he understands this. He hired Smith and "rolled the dice". Kirby will make a good hire and hopefully get a coach who can commit to our University, culture and have a goal of being successful for the long haul.
