It's pissing me off to hear about anyone but Beard being coach of the year in the Big 12. The same folks voting on this award judged Tech to be the 7th place team in pre-conference voting. And now we are sitting atop the conference with one game to play.
Many are now saying that Scott Drew is the guy because he had to overcome so many injuries!! F' Drew!! Beard had to replace over 70% of his scoring from last year and he elevated that team to first place from a 7th place prediction.
Last year, Beard had to share COTY with f'ing Bill self who was the preseason conference favorite for the umpteenth time. But he was voted co COTY because his team had some injuries....even though they were always the most talented roster in the league.
What a farce this conference has become. Beard was hands down COTY last year and even more so this year. If it comes back any other way when they vote, they should be ashamed of themselves.
