if Gibbs is the guy that kliff is expecting and paying him to be, then these moves have to be done. He needs a staff underneath him, not beside him. Or disagreeing behind doors etc on his defense. It's his. He's the DC, and he needs to own it. Fully.

we have witnessed back to back seasons of record breaking horrible defense. We finished this season 124th and the owner of the worst defense of any power 5 conference. That's putrid. Anyone halfway even accepting this is allowing us to be mediocre. Can't happen and inexcusable.

I love the guys we had/have on staff as they are our own, but the job isn't getting done. I've had to fire friends too and it's the F'ing worst. But, it was better off because it's just business and it's my way. Not my way, and hope my friends are cool with it. Just mine.

I know all the guys will land on their feet and I hate seeing them go because they are great people. Not just coaches, but good people

This is step 1 in kliff growing IMO as a coach and 100% owning this program. In another Universe Mike smith would be our DC if Gibbs is never born. But, in this universe kliff went with a more logical choice in Gibbs because, as he knows, he's just far more qualified for the job.

This is business and with the amount of money that's being spent, there are no favors for buddies. Especially for the results we have seen.

It's in tech's, kliff's and the players' best interest to give them every opportunity to win. If that means letting your friends walk for a chance at a better defense, then that's the call.

Love the dudes for what they did for our program and am excited for the future of this football team.

Guns up nerds

Our HC just became a no more BS coach
