The Red Raider Confidential is sponsored by Cardinal's Sports Center. If you
need Texas Tech gear or Under Armour apparel, the best place to go in our
opinion is Cardinal's -- they have three convenient locations in Lubbock, a
brand new store in Plano and a fantastic selection on
their website.

Cardinal's

Wreck'em Tech T-Shirts
are now available for purchase! They are the only
such t-shirts endorsed by Texas Tech and the Saddle Tramps. Football season
kicks off this weekend, so be sure to get your gameday gear in time
for the Red Raiders' opener against SMU.

Will Desimon Green Visit?

At this point, it looks unlikely that Clairton (Pa.) defensive end

Desimon Green
will visit Texas Tech. We touched on this a
bit last week but checked in again a couple of days ago and Green said that
nothing had changed.

"I won't be taking any other official visits unless I decommit from Pitt," he
said. "I still talk to Texas A&M and Texas Tech still, so you never know what
could happen."

But Green reiterated that he's locked in with the Panthers unless they continue
to bring in players at his position.

"I'm pretty well done unless Pitt takes another defensive end," he said. "If
that happens, things might change. If not, I'm pretty satisfied."

There you have it.

White Looking At Tech Again?

Has DeSoto (Texas) wide receiver

Cameron White
decommitted from TCU again? This kind of came
out of nowhere, and we haven't been able to confirm with him or any TCU sources,
but Killeen (Texas) Ellison defensive tackle Devon Hocutt told RRS this
week that White has indeed opened things back up.

"Cameron White, from DeSoto, is also a guy I've been talking to a lot (on
Facebook)," Hocutt said. "He decommitted from TCU and now he has Tech in his top
two, so we're trying to get him to verbally commit to us."

We will continue to try and get to the bottom of this with White or someone
close to the situation at TCU.

Scouting Hershey Robinson

The Tech men's basketball program will be hosting Humble (Texas) Christian Life
Center forward

Hershey Robinson
this weekend, and the thought is that Robinson
might leave committed to the Red Raiders. Robinson is extremely tight with
former CLC teammate Javarez Willis, and the CLC staff seems to have a great
relationship with Pat Knight's program as well.

We spoke with CLC coach Carlos Wilson about Robinson earlier this week.

"The one thing that I think that Hershey will really benefit from is his
versatility," Wilson said. "Hershey is 6-foot-7 and he's not afraid to rebound,
he can have some post-up opportunities that he can take advantage of on smaller
guys, but he also really shoots the ball well from long range. So the
three-point shot is something that he really improved, and he can put it on the
floor real good. Offensively, he is versatile; he has the total package. And
then on the flip side, defensively, Hershey can guard the 1 through the 4. He's
quick enough and long enough to guard 1's, 2's, 3's, 4's, just whatever you need
from him; he is able to do on the basketball court."

Wilson also pointed out that Robinson caught the eye of the Tech staff while
they were looking at Willis.

"Hershey was a kid that caught their eye as they were coming down and seeing
things through our workouts and our practices last year," he said. "But Hershey
is a kid that has really benefited from our program, and our workout regiment,
and being around great players on a daily basis. He has gotten so much better
from the moment he got here to now that it is almost scary, and I think he is
going to continue to get better because he works so hard. They see that, too,
and they know that his basketball is ahead of him and he is pretty good already.
They have watched that development and they have watched his work ethic and they
have watched him put it together, and I think that was a selling point for them
and their recruitment of him. But as I said, they have watched him develop over
the past year."

Fulse Still Looking To Visit Tech

Fort Meade (Florida) tight end

Brandon Fulse
has recently been in contact with Texas Tech
coaches about setting up an official visit.

"We are trying to set up a visit. I do not know what game yet," he said. "I
wanted to come up for the Baylor game because (Tech) is one place I really want
to make sure to visit and because it was my open week but they told me that game
is in Dallas but I am trying to make it up to a game though."

The 6-foot-4, 247-pound four-star prospect gained interest in Tech for many
reasons, one of which is Tommy Tuberville.

"Yes, I like Tommy Tuberville and how he coached at Auburn," he said. "He always
liked having a big tight end and now he is at Texas Tech. They throw the ball a
lot and even though never have needed a tight end in the past 10 years. Now with
the new offense they need one."

Other than Texas Tech, Fulse holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson,
Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Marshall,
Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Oregon, Rutgers, South Carolina, South
Florida, Stanford, Tennessee, UCF and West Virginia.?

Quick Hits

? San Antonio (Texas) MacArthur tight end

Jace Amaro
confirmed with Taylor on Thursday that he may
not visit Tech this weekend. MacArthur has a late game on Saturday night, so
Amaro isn't sure if he'll be able to make it up to Lubbock in time.

? Spanish Fort (Ala.) linebacker

Blake Dees
told Taylor on Thursday that he thinks he will
be visiting Tech for the Texas game, but he wasn't 100 percent on that.
Regardless of whether or not the official is planned for that weekend, Dees said
he is "definitely going to try" to get to Lubbock for that game.
