The Red Raider Confidential is sponsored by Cardinal's Sports Center. If you
need Texas Tech gear or Under Armour apparel, the best place to go in our
opinion is Cardinal's -- they have three convenient locations in Lubbock, a
brand new store in Plano and a fantastic selection on
their website.

Cardinal's

Wreck'em Tech T-Shirts
are still available for purchase! They are the only
such t-shirts endorsed by Texas Tech and the Saddle Tramps. Tech will close out
its season against Northwestern in the TicketCity Bowl, so be sure to get your gameday gear in time to Red Out the
Cotton Bowl on Jan. 1!

Lewis Keeping Options Open

Spring (Texas) Klein Oak defensive lineman Jon Lewis is keeping
his options open following the departure of James Willis from Texas Tech's
staff. Lewis noted that he is very close to recruiting coach Tommy
Mainord
, but said one of the major reasons for his commitment to the
Red Raiders was Willis and the team's defensive scheme.

"Well, see when I first came there, he was really big as for the reason why I
wanted to come there," Lewis said. "He had a really good scheme and everything
the defensive tackles and ends would do stunts and a whole bunch of cool stuff,
and that was basically all about me.

"Everything that I am good at, he was actually doing that. And that was a huge
part of why I said I was actually going to be there, and now he's not going to
be there anymore so I'm kind of shaky about it. I really don't know as far as me
being there, so I'm just going to have to wait and see what's up."

As we reported on Sunday, Lewis plans to visit TCU and Cal in January. He told
RRS a few days prior that he planned on unofficially visiting Tech in
mid-January when teammate and stud kicker Michael Shroble
visits the South Plains, no word yet on whether or not those plans have changed
or not.

No Changes For Green

Clairton (Pa.) defensive end Desimon Green listed the Red
Raiders as his leader after re-opening his recruitment in the wake of Dave
Wannstedt's dismissal at Pitt. Following the departure of Willis at Tech, many
wondered if Green would shake up his list again.

We spoke with Green late in the week and he said nothing has changed.

"The situation hasn't really changed with the guys at Tech. I've been recruited
by Coach (Robert) Prunty and that's who I've got the best
relationship with. He hasn't gone anywhere. I trust Coach P and he'll still be
there, so my interest in them hasn't changed any."

Green will have a busy January as his schedule is full with official visits to
(in order) Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois and Texas Tech.

Reynolds Says Hartsfield Is Solid

In a recent conversation with Greensboro (N.C.) Dudley cornerback Jeremy
Reynolds
, he shed some light on the status of one of his fellow
defensive commits, Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy linebacker
Terrell Hartsfield
.

"I spoke with Terrell a few days ago," Reynolds said. "I don't think there's any
reason for him to change his commitment. He's real tight with Coach P and so I
don't think Coach Willis leaving would have too much of an effect on him.

"Coach Prunty is a good guy and I think Terrell and I both were relieved when we
found out Coach P wasn't going anywhere."

Tech Targeting JUCO WR/KR?

Tech will have an in-home visit with Brenham (Texas) Blinn College receiver
Philander Moore next month; Ole Miss and Utah will also be by as well.

Moore was a full qualifier out of high school -- he didn't sign with a Division
I program because he broke his collar bone during his senior season -- and will
have three years to play three. He logged a combined 330 yards and three
touchdowns in 2010 rushing and receiving, but one of the biggest reasons he's on
the radar for teams is his success as a returner. Moore returned? six punts
and kickoffs for touchdowns this season, earning him a spot on the NJCAA
All-American team.

Moore is originally from Austin, and the thought is that the Red Raiders are in
pretty good shape if they decide to pull the trigger on an offer.
