Just a couple of observations regarding plays Tech runs on offense and defends on defense. Kliff & Company love running the bubble screen and its seems to be a staple of our offense. This play seems to work pretty well against weaker opponents with below average defensive backs and not so well against teams with bigger more physical defensive backs (surprise, surprise). I've noticed some teams sit on this play waiting for Tech to run it since we run it so often. I suspect Tech runs bubble screens 8 to 10 times this week with good results. I'm somewhat more apprehensive of how well we execute against OU. As for defending the run between the tackles Tech has been in a word awful (again no surprise to anyone). It seems as though most of those runs have been to the right but there seems to be a fair share to the left as well. It seems like Mike Warren's runs of 46, 51, 17 and 47 yards were all to the right and between the tackles. I'm sure Kansas will be looking to give run the ball plenty between the tackles on Saturday and who can blame them. I'll be interested to see how often they run between the tackles and even more interested to see how well we defend it. I'll consider it a good day if we don't give up any runs beyond 30 yards.
