I'm going to say it again: Texas Tech assistant Tommy Mainord can recruit with anyone in the country.
We've just spoken with the top defensive prospect in the state of Texas for 2012, Rockdale (Texas) linebacker Derek David who confirmed that he gave a verbal commitment to Mainord earlier today.
I cannot stress enough how good David is as a prospect and what an outstanding job that Mainord did with him.
Anyone that suggests that David isn't the best defensive prospect in Texas for 2012 has a bias or agenda of some sort because he is without question the best there is.
