With all of the discussion about Bowman and Duffey, I thought it would be nice to know how each broke down on their completions. I went back and re-watched the offensive part of the game and here is how it shook down. NOTE - this is how far the ball traveled in the air from the line of scrimmage, which I think is more relevant than it with YAC.
Bowman:
Behind the line of scrimmage: 8
0-5: 3
5-10: 6
10-20: 4
20+: 1
*Completed 50% of his passes within 5 yds of the line of scrimmage.
Duffey:
Behind the line of scrimmage: 1
0-5: 1
5-10: 3
10-20: 2
20+: 0
*had 2 passes called back for penalties, including a 30+ yd. TD, and threw an INT.
Also FWIW: Bowman didn't have hardly any throws past the 5-10 yd category till after the first half (either 1-2), the offense also punted 2/3 first possessions.
Anyways, I thought this might be good fun for the debate. These are honestly just the stats, nothing subjective. I also thought the play calling was a bit interesting with how they used Bowman with the all the short stuff and when Duffey went in there were more play action down the field throws.
