Preface: I get its been two games, but don't say that we can't draw clear insights off of the teams play. Things can and will change but we have a feel for how this team is competing as well as our competition.

Before the season I was in the 7-5 camp, bought some preseason hype to about 8-4. Now we don't want to be too knee jerk, but the defense is going to be on par with last year. You can have a bad outing but you can't give up 68, that's a whole different level of bad.

This weekend will be a good test but lets just assume you beat La Tech, KU, and ISU, you need two more wins. The obvious losses are OU, UT, and OSU. I think KSU being on the road is going to be tough, WVU at home is winnable. Baylor is at the end of the season so maybe attrition hits them by then and TCU away is a tossup.

The two glaring issues here are the running game and the defense. The turnovers need to return in earnest and we have to find a way to rush the ball effectively even if its on a limited basis. I think there can be improvement but not enough during the season to be substantially better.

I think we can to 6-6 but 7-5 looks optimistic.
