The Big 12 has been recognized as the top basketball conference in the nation this year. This is huge in seeding and number of teams in the big dance. The upcoming SEC/BIG 12 challenge will be a great opportunity to solidify that standing. While the SEC doesn't have any top 10 teams, it's still capable of pulling off some upsets. Kentucky, Ags (back to full health now), Tenn, Aub, etc can compete with anyone. Would love to see the Big 12 roll them. The advantages of having so many considered top 20 become obvious when we beat each other up and no one loses their position.
Bad news for the Big 12.
KU's odds just improved with their 5 star recruit De Sousa (6'10") gaining eligibility. . They went from being perhaps the 4th place team to right back at the top. Their inside game, and particularly rebounding, will get a huge boost, and that was an unprecedented weakness for them. If this addition is as good as advertised, they will be hard to beat. If Preston (another 6'9" 5 star recruit) also gains his eligibility as they expect, they'll likely repeat as champs again. Will be interesting how fast those 2 could acclimate to the Big 12. They play a huge game at WV tomorrow.
