This weekend raised some hopes and crushed others. With 2 weekends left, who has a chance to host a regional or be a top 8 seed?
OSU. Can't do better than sweep a top 5 team at their house. Moved to #12 rpi. No chance to win the Big 12 but hosting a region is possible. Winning 4 of 6 vs OU and BU should make them a host. And boy do we need them to win the BU series.
BU. Looked great til Sunday's loss. An rpi now of 27 with only 4 games left ruins their chances of hosting unless they sweep OSU and win the title.
WV lost any hope of hosting but look to make the postseason.
OU has to win Bedlam to probably reach the postseason.
TCU blows a 2 run 9th inning lead and with it their chances.
UT is burnt toast while KU and KSU are improved but waiting til next year.
TT. 3 weeks ago they're fighting for their lives. An rpi of 9 has them behind 2 ACC teams. Winning the Big 12 (minimum 2 wins over TCU) or sweeping the frogs will get them a national seed.
