Alright, so was thinking after a really bad showing today. We started on a tear and our two best games were a loss to Duke and a win against a pretty good Nebraska. The other non conference wins really just weren't impressive.

So now we are in conference and sitting middle of the pack at 5-4. So are we the 15-1 team or the team that's lost 3 of the last 4 conference games?

Honestly, its probably somewhere in the middle. But here's what I'm hoping works in our favor. Our 4 conference loses are to the 4 teams ahead of us in the standings. 3 of those have been on the road, where you don't beat good teams very often. But we also beat the team in first place at home, so we split against them. Our other 4 wins came against the 6th & 10th place teams on the road, and the 7th and 8th place teams at home.

So that means in the second half of the season, all the top teams come to us except Iowa State and KSU (done with them). Our road games are against the worst teams in the league. They'll still be tough, but we will have a good shot in all of them.

Point is, we got through the hardest half of the conference schedule with a winning record. Over the second half we could go 7-2 or maybe more likely 6-3. That probably doesn't win the Big 12, but this team always had some big holes that were going to make that a tall order. And, if I'm not mistaken, 11-7 is what last year's team did. If that or even 10-8 is our floor, that's a pretty dang good season for a program that has its best days ahead.
