Update: Tech has now secured a top 8 RPI, regardless of today’s outcome. I fully expect us to be a national seed come tournament time.
Broswing the RPI needs on Boyd's World, I've found the following:
Tech only needs one more win vs OSU to guarantee a top 8 RPI to end the season.
The following teams are guaranteed a top 8 RPI regardless of the rest of their regular season's results:
Arkansas
Florida
Teams that can still reach the top 8 RPI:
FSU - needs to sweep.
Georgia - needs to win 2 games.
Ole Miss - needs a sweep.
UNC - needs a sweep.
Oregon State - 2 home wins, 2 road wins; or - 3 home wins, 1 road win.
Stanford - 3 total wins of their last 6 games.
Dallas Baptist cannot reach the top the 16 in RPI under any circumstances.
Kentucky cannot finish top 8, but can finish top 16 with a sweep this weekend.
UT cannot finish top 8, but can finish top 16 with a sweep of TCU.
Aggy cannot finish top 8
Warrent Nolan is predicting that we sweep OSU this weekend and end the year with with an overall RPI of 5 (non-con RPI of 2), overall SOS at 11, with non-con SOS at 7.
All of this to say, if we win 2 vs OSU, we will finish top 8 in the RPI with a top 10 SOS (depending on which site you look at), I believe we will be a national seed.
