- Peery saying there was not much thought or concern when he got the call from coach Mark Adams about a week ago. Portland State head coach was a good job for him but he knew he needed to be in Lubbock. He said it was not a tough decision and his wife even knew if the phone rang and it was from Lubbock that they would be moving to Texas.

- Peery saying there's a great buzz in the office, which is the Womble now. He said the next few days and weeks will be good momentum for them. He believes they have everything they need here in Lubbock. Peery adding last night he was on a recruiting virtual visit and the player's coach was on the call and complimented the Womble. He said there's NBA facilities that can't touch the Womble.

- He said they do a lot more full court stuff than coach Adams. He likes being a fast paced offense, which Adams wants. He said defensively everyone already knows they'll be great. The goal is to get the ball down the court fast and to score. Peery added they expect more speed on offense and defense.

- Recruiting wise it'll be a balance. He said a lot of guys in the portal are one-year guys but they need a mix of four, three or two-year guys.

- Sean Sutton and Peery go way back to the College of Southern Idaho days.

- Peery saying he feels strongly about his ability to recruit the West Coast. His recruiting ability in JUCO, though, stretches across the nation. He knows this staff will have pieces to recruit the whole nation once it's filled.

- Peery has his fingers crossed that they can get back to normal come June 2 when the (hopefully) dead period ends.
