This is not intended to be a conspiracy thread against Tech! But I have noticed the official oftentimes place the ball well back of the forward progress of the ball at the time the knew or forearm touched the ground. It isn't just happening to Tech, but it is happening pretty consistently. Has anyone else noticed this?
I realized that I have the luxury of replay and watching the video time and again, but some of these placements seem sort of blatant. In the WVU game, we missed out on a couple of first downs because of the placement on earlier downs, and that could have meant the difference between a win and a loss. Again, it happens in most of the Big 12 games I have watched, so I'm not whining that they have it out for Tech.
Is this a way to help the Big 12 defenses against the high powered offense in this league? Has anyone else noticed this?
