...too much time to think and contemplate and go crazy.

Mike Leach talk is crazy talk. I'm a huge fan of Leach, he's my favorite football coach by a long way. He coached my favorite team to their biggest win ever in 2008. Who doesn't look back on that game and smile?! I know I do, I didn't dream that in my head. But, guy was fired with cause. I think that's too much of a hurdle. Plus he's been gone for a decade or so - serious question, does he have the energy to rebuild Tech football? Because rebuild is where it's at. Another serious question - did Mike Leach's football powers peak with that 2008 season? If so, is that the guy Tech fans want running the program a decade after he peaked? He's contended for the conference title in the PAC once I think (this season) and Big 12 once (2008) - is that where Tech fans want Red Raider football - to contend occasionally? His teams are super fun to watch, he's a riot as a head coach, but I do wonder if his football powers have peaked.

Basketball ranking talk in November is crazy talk but awesome crazy talk. I mean it's November, rankings in basketball mean nothing today, nothing tomorrow, and nothing at all ever. Basketball mostly gets it right and most of the deserving teams get a chance to prove it on the court of honor. It's not 100% but it's mostly pretty good. One or two teams may get boned down every Selection Sunday, and 8 teams get jobbed by having to play in and win an extra game that all the other teams don't have to play. That part bothers me greatly. Basketball used to be a level playing field, with these teams having to play an extra game it's no longer even so that part sucks. Anyway back to ranking talk, how cool is it that Tech fans are on here in November anxious to see the weekly hoops rankings?! Hahahaha I love it, it's awesome! One great thing about basketball, if you have an interesting team you have several months of multiple games a week to watch, enjoy, worry, fret, celebrate, moan, throw up, get low, get high. For me personally, I love that Tech runs a ton of motion. It's easy to look around basketball and forget how beautiful the motion offense is, what a team concept it is. Can't get enough of that. This Tech defense is pretty salty, that's two seasons in a row. Man I love that. Bring on Memphis, I think Tech is better than them and playing better than them, which seems like a good combination for the Raiders. Of course, in basketball it's only 40 minutes and one guy gets hot at the right time and anyone can win - good shooting overcomes a host of deficiencies for any one game. Is it Saturday yet?! Holy moly.

I said I was at work, right? Time to earn my pay.
