Had the good fortune to attend this year. Kudos to Prevost. Between that and the time at the hotel, my wife and I had the opportunity to meet several players and coaches. We couldn't have been more impressed. Odiase, Evans, and Gray were as polite and accommodating as they could be. Very approachable and took pictures with each. Great for the few kids there. Up close, I was even more amazed at the physical transformation of Odiase this year. Also spoke to Zach in the elevator. No earthshattering news but he indicated he has not given up on coming back before the season is over. No inside info and maybe it was just hopeful thinking, but just the idea of it as a possibility is something to hang your hat on. Him sitting on the bench the last games of his senior year would be a total injustice for what he has meant to our program.
FWIW. To me the most entertaining part was watching an end of practice one on one between what I suppose was 2 grad assistants with Hamilton referring. Beard made team members choose a winner and the players shamed us visitors in to coming on the court and picking a side. It was fun watching half the team run to get their phones and video it. The losing players, and visitors, jogged an up and back with the man in the wheel chair right there with us. Loved it. Being from Houston area, its hard to get to Lubbock for games. Look forward to hearing some more "Raider Power" in Waco.
