The Red Raiders head to Lawrence, Kansas to take on the Jayhawks tonight with Texas Tech’s tournament hopes hanging in the balance.

This is Tech’s last chance at a signature win on the road, one that at this point in this season, the Red Raiders desperately need for any chance at an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament.

Last time out, the Jayhawks won behind a 5-5 effort from three from Dujuan Harris who was a major factor in a 11-24 assault from beyond the arc in Lubbock.

The Jayhawks, throughout the season, haven’t been one of the best three-point shooting teams but found a way to find open looks, using a lot of skip passes to open up the Tech defense, so it’s possible that Mark Adams shifts to a zone like he did in the second half of Saturday’s affair against the Horned Frogs.

As always, the Jayhawks are going to be a very good transition team, as they were against the Red Raiders in Lubbock. It’ll take the best effort of the season to come out on top tonight, and that’s probably putting it lightly.

Texas Tech desperately needs this one to have a chance at an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, currently sitting at a 1.3% chance of making the tournament according to bartorvik.com.

If the Red Raiders were to win this one, they would shoot up to 25 percent for a bid using the same service. Winning out lands the Red Raiders in a “last four out” bid before the Big 12 tournament.

Losing in Lawrence would send the Red Raiders down to the 11th team out of the tournament, regardless of the result on Saturday.

The Red Raiders are heading into a building where the Jayhawks are 163-10 in the last ten seasons desperately needing a win for their chances at an at-large bid to come to fruition.

The season hangs in the balance, desperately need this one, can the Red Raiders extend the season? We will find out tonight at 8 p.m. on ESPN2.
