Wow what a stinker. It turns out it really is hard for Tech to beat TCU three times in one season - impossible, in fact.
I'm not going to dump on anyone in particular, sometimes shots just don't go in. I wish these guys that are not hitting would recognize that fact and do some other things to help the team...instead they become nothing but shooters, or would-be scorers, and don't defend, rebound, pass, or handle the ball except to shoot it. As often happens, the team that shot better won the game. Tech had two guys play significant minutes and go a combined 4-17 from the field for 11 points. 17 shots for 11 points. Ouch.
I've been on the Smith + Ross bandwagon, but I'm leaving Ross behind. Maybe my superstitious belief of not talking about him will resurrect his offensive impact in the NCAA tourney. I'm sticking with Smith, I think he's a tough matchup for a lot of teams. Will be interesting to see if Tech draws a team where Smith will continue to have an advantage.
I'm putting Odiase on my bandwagon, in place of Ross. I guess there is only room for two. Odiase should have his wind now, and his shot looks good. There are not a lot of guys that can stick that 15 - 18 footer consistently. I would love to see him get more passes in a position to shoot it. I think he could be a real offensive weapon in the tourney.
You know, despite losing in awful fashion, I thought Tech did a pretty good job of not turning the ball over...I'm not counting many of the dumb shots they took as defacto turnovers.
Sunday is the draw, I heard CBS is going to expand the show to two hours. Ugh. I guess I don't care as long as they announce the field up front. I haven't missed a tourney draw since it's been televised, but it was a lot more fun when the show was half an hour.
