Bo Mattingly and Mike Irwin join our Aaron Peters for the Razorback Nation roundtable discussion. One topic is the statements Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury about Arkansas coach Bret Bielema. Turns out Bielema made some comments during the off season that Kingsbury took offense to. Kingbsury had his chance to get back at Bielema and he did so after Texas Tech beat Arkansas Saturday night.

Aaron Peters, Razorback Nation Anchor:
"Its the Pig Trail show and its back. Mike Irwin and Bo Mattingly with a gorgeous lime green tie joining me now. We are going to talk Arkansas football today. Two part question to start us off with. One, what happened to lost the game on Saturday and what happened to the promising season?"
Bo Mattingly, Sports Talk With Bo:
"Well the first one is easy to me. Patrick Mahomes won the game for Texas Tech we know all the things that have gone wrong for Arkansas football but they might not face another QB all season. A lot of people going in to the game that watched tape of him talked about how this could be a Heisman kind of player in the future, not saying you can with that at Tech but he is that kind of player. What happened to the season? I think a lot of things have happened. Injuries continue to mount and that is a big deal but I don't see the edge that this team possessed last year. Writer after writer came in this off season and talked about how great this team was and Bielema talked about it as well and I think they started to believe it instead of earn which is something he talks about all the time."
Mike Irwin, Razorback Nation Analyst:
"What lost the game was you cant start kicking field goals when you are playing those guys and they are scoring that way. The first time the kicked a field goal the game was over as far as I'm concerned because you can't get that far behind them. What happened to the season? They went to LR distracted and gave a game away that they should have won, this week honestly they played a team that is better than they are. That may be hard to believe but Texas Tech is going to score more than 35 points on teams this year and you have got to be able to score more than 24 points on that team because they're defense is terrible. Everybody says the defense lost that game, the offense lost that game."
Bo Mattingly, Sports Talk With Bo:
"They changed offensive coordinators. Everyone thought they would be better. The passing game is better but is the offense as a whole better? Some of the numbers would say no. Some of the critical numbers."
Aaron Peters, Razorback Nation Anchor:
"The time of possession was there for Arkansas to win the game but you can't have long sustained drives and then kick a field goal, Mike is right. Alright, so Kliff Kingsbury said some colorful things about Bret Bielema about some things Bielema said to some Texas high school coaches. What do you make of all that?"
Bo Mattingly, Sports Talk With Bo:
"Well when you talk people get a chance to talk back. We all like when Bret Bielema talks when they are winning but all the sudden across the country he is come kind of a buffoon when they lose. The only thing that has changed is if they win the game or not. Bielema is the same, talks the same all the time. Clearly Kliff Kingsbury had a chance to get back at him and did."
Mike Irwin, Razorback Nation Analyst:
"Both of these coaches talk too much. Bielema is just that way but Kliff Kingsbury is a smart-aleck and he will pay sometime down the line for what he said. Arkansas won't do it but what? He is cocky? Why because the won a couple of games. He was about to be in trouble himself. There is a lesson to be learned here just like with Bielema you go down and beat Texas and then start talking in the off season think we have arrived. You better wait and see if you have arrived before you start talking about being arrived."
Aaron Peters, Razorback Nation Anchor:
"Yea well now that they have not arrived, what next? Lets start with you Bo about what you think about Texas A&M this week."
Bo Mattingly, Sports Talk With Bo:
"Well its not going to be pretty unless something changes real quick but here is the deal Texas A&M is a little different then Tech their defense is a little better. I just wonder how many offenses the Razorback defense is going to see that is like Texas Tech. Give Tech credit. They are better on offense than a lot of people thought and it starts with that quarterback but I don't think there is any way you can expect Arkansas to go and win that game in Arlington."
Mike Irwin, Razorback Nation Analyst:
"A&M has a much better defense than Tech not just better but much better but you said it they will not face a better QB a more deceptive QB and maybe a team with better receivers. Tech gets these former HS running backs and they get them out there against your cornerback and make moves and make you look silly. They way to beat them? I have seen Tech lose a lot of games over the years, you beat them by forcing turnovers. Arkansas got two but lets face it they were long passes that didn't really do any damage. "
Aaron Peters, Razorback Nation Anchor:
"I do think it will help Arkansas against Texas A&M having just faced the Tech team, it will help Arkansas' defense. Bo is right I don't think you can expect Arkansas to go down there and win. The good thing is it's a new season. The SEC season only about 15 second left any way good things can happen?"
Bo Mattingly, Sports Talk With Bo:
"I think it will be a struggle to make a bowl game but I think they will win some games they are not supposed to just like they have lost some games they maybe should not have."
Mike Irwin, Razorback Nation Analyst:
"There are some winnable games in the SEC that might not have been last year. Auburn , Missouri there are some teams out there they can beat then you have Tenn Martin so they can win three more and get to a bowl but after that you are talking about them upsetting Tenn on the road or something and that does not look likely right now."
AP:
"Amazing the narrative we are talking about compared to before the season. Great job to both Mike and Bo. We are going to have you recruiting report next.
