Many countries in S America have become more receptive to XI and Putin overtures in recent decades. Nice to see the US win a major Argentina military contract along with Argentina taking steps to allow a small US naval base in the Magellan Strait. This is very important strategically as the alternative to the Panama Canal. China had been hoping to acquire that position. It comes at a time when China has been confronted by growing bonds between the US and southeast Asian allies to their aggression towards Taiwan and the Philippines. Russian and Chinese expansionisitic attitudes, particularly Putin's war, have opened eyes and shown Putin's true intentions, too. Argentina's letter to NATO regarding admittance, after Poland and Finland admissions to NATO, is another kick in his ass. It comes the same week that over 300 members of the house approved the aid to Ukraine. Nice to see Johnson step up and allow such a bill to be voted on.
